    On the 6th August, Philip Jobling – Business Manager, GrainSearch – presented at the National Fodder Conference in Ballarat. GrainSearch has commercialised two (2) of the best performing HRZ Dual Purpose Wheat varieties – SQP Revenue and Manning.  These 2 wheats can provide strong Dry Matter production and high grain yield potentals, however, many growers are now recognising that these wheats can also provide great silage/hay options as well.   • 2015 Trial Season set to start in May

    GrainSearch’s expanding Variety Evaluation Program is set to start again in May.  We look forward to some solid opening rains to give our trial collaborators the opportunity to sow our replicated sites.  This season our sites will include; 1) Inverleigh A full replicated site of all remaining Wheat and Barley Lines Mini-bulk up of selected wheat and barley lines (aim to harvest about 200kg of high quality seed) First year single plot entries of Barley and 1 wheat line – straight from Quarantine. 2) SFS Inverleigh – Pure seed production of a new Revenue seed line (removing known off-types).   • 2014 Trials – Harvest Completed

    GrainSearch’s trial collaborators have completed harvest of all trial and evaluation sites for the 2014 season.  A trial summary report is located in the Research section of the website.  Once the wheat grain quality testing has been completed, we will add further detail to the report.  GrainSearch is already busy planning its trial program for 2015 and is very anxious to see the remaining top lines perform well again this season.

  • GrainSearch 2014 Barley trials harvested

    GrainSearch’s two key barley evaluation sites for 2014 – Horsham and Inverleigh – have recently been harvested.  Early results show some exceptional new lines coming through the system.  GrainSearch will soon have the samples tested for normal grain quality parameters and will provide a summary of results in the New Year. GrainSearch’s wheat sites at Horsham, Inverleigh, Dookie and Barooga have yet to be harvested (as of 26th Nov 2014)
